Established in 1960, Robnor Resins is Europe's leading specialist formulator of epoxy and polyurethane resin systems for the Marine, Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, Civil Engineering, Telecommunication Giftware, Transport and OEM Industries.
Robnor needed an IT partner who could provide consultancy and advice on the selection of a new ERP system to replace a legacy UNIX system which had been in place since 1985. They also needed to standardize on equipment and provide on-going support for on-site and off-site users.
3d simplified the entire network with a combination of UNIX based firewalls & Windows 2003 servers which provided very high levels of security coupled with user management and group policies. 3d also added a dedicated application server for the new ERP software , an Exchange server and a managed backup system to protect 48 years of critical formulation data. New servers with long warranties ensure good performance for the next 3 years. Remote access was implemented to support field workers allowing them to work as if they were in the office out on-site with members and from home. All of the above was backed up and supported by a remote support service for both office and remote workers. Preventative health checks with 24/7 monitoring of the network ensured trouble free operation.
We are now in our 4th year of supporting Robnor and their IT infrastructure has had no significant outage of any service in this time. The relationship between 3d and Robnor continues to grow and we are now considered to be a core support partner in their business ensuring Robnor can focus on their product sales to deliver more to their customers.
